IDBF gründet Patron's Club
Donnerstag, 17. Dezember 2009

Dear Dragon Boat Friends,

Please find attached your copy of the Nov 09 DBI Newsletter.  Please redistribute it as necessary.

I would like to published the IDBF Calendar of Events in the next DBI so please let me have any important race dates that you would like listed by 15 Jan 10 at the very latest.

At the moment DBI is normally produced as a PDF but from the New Year we are looking at publishing a hard copy edition - with the PDF being sent out as an abridged version only.

We are also proposing to form an IDBF Patron's Club for people and organisations who wish to support the IDBF Development Programme.   The idea of the PC is to raise money specifically to help new and developing Countries obtain Dragon Boats and Paddles.

At the moment the IDBF has Dragon Boats donated by our Boat Manufacturers but not the funds to cover the shipping costs to send them to places like Uganda, Senegal, Ghana, Chile, Costa Rica, Moldova and other Countries, who want to start Dragon Boating but don't have the equipment or finance or both, to start out great sport in their own areas.  To cover such costs would be the first fund raising task of the IDBF Patron's Club.

But we are not asking you for "something for nothing", as all PC Members as part of their Membership, will receive:-

*  A hard copy of every issue of DBI, currently published four times a year.
*  Free accreditation at IDBF World Championship Regattas (worth USD 10.00).
*  Access to VIP facilities at IDBF World Championships.
*  Discounted subscription to Dragon Boat World International Magazine.
*  Discounts on other publications and services offered by or through the IDBF.
*  A Certificate of Patronage.

The annual membership fee for the IDBF Patrons Club will be USD 49.00 per person, with all surplus funds, after the deduction of DBI costs, going to the IDBF Development Fund for the provision of Dragon Boats and Equipment.

In addition to individual membership, there will also be a Corporate Membership package for businesses that would like to support the development of the sport.

If you would like to become a Patron's Club Member or are interested in Corporate Membership, then drop me an email and I will send you an Membership Application Form or or details of the Corporate package.

Don't forget that the Autumn Issue of the Dragon Boat World International Magazine is also available now by subscription and IDBF Patron's Club Members will get DBWI at a discounted price too !.

By the way - if you would like to receive a hard copy of DBI but don't want to join the IDBF Patron's Club, then the annual subscription will be USD 28.00.  Email me for a subscription form.

With best wishes for a happy New Year,
Mike Haslam
IDBF Executive President
